Oh baby!

Hi all!
As some of you may or may not know, I am in the Young Women's presidency in our ward at church. We have given the girls a challenge: Leaders vs. Young Women in personal progress. I am a horrible journal writer, but have wanted to document some of the events that are going on in our lives right now because I am so far away from family and friends. I decided that a blog might be a fun way to work on a 10-hour project and so here it is!

First things (and most exciting things) first! We are having a little boy! I know, that isn't exactly new news, but we're so excited to be welcoming little Beckham James Harber into our home in January or February!!!
How did we come up with that name? Well, James is a family name for Blake's Family. His Grandpa, his dad, and even Blake are actually named James. They all go by their middle name which all start with "B's". James B. Harber was getting confusing with all of the medical, financial, and blah blah  paperwork so we decided to give our little guy a chance at a less confusing life and switched it up just a little. Thus, James was put in the middle and our "B" name was put first.

We were so fortunate in our "baby plan" as I like to call it. We were both pretty aware of the fact that we wanted to start a family. I turn 25 this year and we knew that it sometimes takes a while to get pregnant. We have had plenty of friends who were planning to add to their family and were having difficulties getting pregnant or it was just taking longer than anticipated. We decided that we were at a point where this was a good time frame..... if it took us a year, 26 was a great age to have our first little babe but we were also open to whatever timing Heavenly Father has for our little family.

We didn't have to wait very long.... only 1 month later, I peed on a stick and about threw up/shouted for joy when that little blue line criss-crossed the other one to tell us we were having a baby. When I told Blake, I brought him into the bathroom and told him that I was pregnant! We had guests at our house at the time so I brought him in discreetly. His face went from shocked to excited and then to a mixture of terror and disbelief. In fact, this is how many tests I had at home that Blake wanted me to take to confirm before he decided we should run to the store to get 4 more :)

Pregnancy has been an exciting and terrifying whirlwind ever since. It's so crazy to know that you have a little human growing in your body! God is great eh? It truly is a miracle! I was really blessed to never experience nausea or any morning sickness! I did have a pretty good round with exhaustion in my first trimester and still have an on-going battle with anxiety from time to time. The first time I had an anxiety attack I literally thought I was dying. The doctor said that you truly feel like you are suffocating to death but that I didn't need to worry because it doesn't cause anything more than just passing out. These crazy pregnancy hormones are to blame I guess, so I'm hoping and praying that the anxiety goes away after this little guy is born.

I will post more as I get pictures and other exciting things to put on here :)
Up next.... How it feels to turn a quarter of a century in age!
